THE ONE BOX CENTERPIECE WITH MOON’S 240I INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER

Simaudio, the Canadian based manufacturer has announced their new MOON 240i Integrated Amplifier.

The entry level integrated in their product line-up, it caters for digital audio with 5 digital inputs (up to 24-bit/352.8kHz and DSD256) including USB, SPDIF (2), Optical (2). along with 3 analog line-level inputs, an MM phono input, and ¼” headphone output jack. There’s also a HT Bypass mode for home theatre use, common requirement today.

Setup is made easy via the on-board software menu and the OLED front panel display.

The 240i is rated at 50 watts per channel. MOON was quick to point out that these aren’t just typical ‘watts’, but MOON watts which they say, is rated very conservatively. According to Simaudio, the 240i will comfortably drive even inefficient and complex low impedance speaker loads without difficulty.

MOON proudly told StereoNET:

As you would expect, the sound quality is all MOON: organic and detailed, with exceptionally well-controlled and tuneful bass, coupled with a wide and airy soundstage. In a nutshell, music comes alive.

The MOON 240i Integrated Amplifier is manufactured in their own Montreal, Quebec factory and comes with an impressive 10-year warranty.

It will be available in the coming months in Black or Black/Silver finishes. Local pricing has been confirmed at $2999 RRP.
