Sony’s World Cup 4K TVs

Yes they have arrived just in time for Brazil’s the 2014 FIFA World Cup™. They being Sony’s new range of BRAVIA 4K TVs and a special promotion which sees anyone buying one of the sets receiving a free PS4.

Sony is also bringing the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ experience in to your living room with Live Football Mode. The acoustics of actual football stadiums in Brazil were measured to create this mode which automatically adjusts audio from the game to match real stadium sound.  By pressing the ‘Football’ button on your remote you can also access the latest news and the official video from the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, as well as popular YouTube football footage so you can learn more about the game’s history.

Selected models of this year’s line-up will incorporate the new innovative “Peak Design” structure – a world-first fusion of style and function. The Peak Design shape increases capacity and incorporates a large speaker to provide deeper, more powerful sound, unprecedented in a flat-screen TV. As speaker capacity gets larger, the bass becomes richer and distortion is reduced, enhancing customers’ TV viewing experience.

In addition to improving sound quality, Sony’s Peak Design was designed to increase stability in an era when screen sizes continue to increase. By lowering the TV’s centre of gravity, Sony was able to achieve a smaller pedestal size than conventional TVs, allowing for a wide variety of installation options, despite a large screen size.

    applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
