Polk Audio Releases ‘Heritage Range’
Polk Audio need no introduction to music lovers worldwide, celebrating over forty years delivering products that have continued to evolve to suit the ever changing market. Late 2013 sees the release of their 'Heritage' range, drawing upon this proud history.
The range includes both portable audio, and headphone products. Quality craftsmanship, high sound quality and vintage styling blending metal, leather, wood grains and other natural finishes, the Heritage look lends itself beautifully to current styles and trends.
With the ability to fill a whole room with sound, the Woodbourne wireless loudspeaker offers AirPlay and Bluetooth wireless technology with aptX connectivity. With a single, compact system, the powerful Woodbourne has an integrated 180-Watt RMS amplifier, two mid-woofers and two silk dome tweeters. The uniquely shaped Woodbourne is 60cm wide and has a mahogany wood veneer top offering a vintage feel, and ideally designed to sit on your table or desk. The Woodbourne is available now at $849 RRP.
For those looking for a more portable solution, the Camden Square is a wireless portable speaker solution. The compact unit allows music lovers to use the Polk DJ Steam app to play songs over Bluetooth from up to four different iPhones at the same time. Boasting a 24 hour battery life, the Camden Square is ideal for party-going music lovers. The 18cm x 18cm speaker has a 3.5mm input on the side for more traditional music playback, and runs two bass radiators alongside long-throw full range drivers for big sounds from a small device.
The Heritage range also extends to the current fastest growing audio category, headphones, with four models. The lightweight Buckle over-ear headphones and compact on-ear Hinge provide superior sound with built-in three button control and microphone giving users easy control over audio selection and phone calls at the touch of a button. The Hinge headband uses a light yet rugged aluminium hinge allowing users to fold them into a compact, easy travel size. Buckle ($349 RRP) and Hinge ($249 RRP) reflect Polk’s classic retro design and are available in chestnut or black with contrasting stitching and metal detailing.
Not neglecting those who prefer an in-ear solution, the Heritage collection also includes Nue Era and Nue Voe in-ear headphones, the ultimate audio accessories for music lovers on the go. Designed with fit and comfort in mind, both headphones are made of polymer resin for added durability. Nue Voe ($279 RRP) and Nue Era ($129 RRP) also have an easy-to-use three button control, built-in microphone and can be connected to supported iOS devices.
“Polk Audio has more than 40 years’ experience and every product in its new Heritage range reflects its outstanding craftsmanship and rich quality sound. Personal audio products often reflect an individual's personality and this new range delivers on both style and quality. Listeners can enjoy an authentic, superior sound from a carefully crafted product.” - Steve Siolis, Managing Director of Directed Electronics (Australian Polk Distributor).
The Heritage range is available now from Polk Audio stockists.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
